Since the last time we talk a lot of things have changed in my life – positively.
October 7 was the first official day I became a Seattleite.
Hmm… still can’t get over how that sounds – Seattleite; it makes me laugh every time.
After living in Portland for exactly two years, it was hard to leave it behind as I fell very much in love with the city. The tall evergreen trees scattered throughout the city and the chill vibes of Sunday afternoons.
I just wasn’t ready to give up Oregon yet since I hadn’t seen all that the beautiful state I had to offer. But I kept an open mind and began to grow excited the closer the time came to moving to Seattle.
It was an unexpected surprise to receive the news of beginning a new adventure in Seattle. This adventure inspired me to begin a new career change and to live my life one day at a time rather than stress about how my future should turn out to be.
Coincidentally, my sister was making her way out to the Seattle for an interview so we had a few days to be tourist together. She was only her for three days but we managed to get in as much as we could in two lol. We made it to Chihuly Gardens, Central Station, Public Library, Kerry Park and Snoqualmie Falls.
It was definitely an exhausting day but we managed to do as much as we could in our soon-to-be home.
Let me just say, the traffic and parking in the city is much worse than Portland’s traffic and parking.
Like MUCH WORSE.
But being in walking distance to local grocery stores, restaurants and parks has made the city life way more fun. It’s the perfect excuse to go for a stroll and I LOVE taking strolls.
Recently, we went to Discovery Park and it was the most beautiful park I have ever seen. It sits on the edge of Puget Sound where there’s a lighthouse that sits on the west side of the beach and a view of the coast on the north side.
We went during sunset (which I HIGHLY recommend) and it had the most stunning views. With the mountain range in the background and Mount Rainier to the left, the sun sets perfectly behind the mountains and leaves a trail of pink hues in the sky.
A DEFINITE Instagram moment I tell ya!
Here are some other places I’ve visited that I recommend you see because they’re awesome:
- Space Needle
- Pike Place
- Dick’s Burger
- Pablo y Pablo
- Acadia
- Meijori Sushi
- Fainting Goat Gelato
- Gas Works Park
- Golden Gardens Beach
It’s definitely been awhile since I’ve said hello but I’m trying to get back on schedule. No more slacking off for me! But there will be more post to come in the future so stay tuned for that, my friends!
Until then, I’ll see you soon and I love you all.
Stay Wild,
Bedhead Nomad
