A Week in Oahu, Hawaii 2021: A Photo Diary

Sunsets and photos of Oahu Hawaii

It was 2 p.m. in Honolulu when I landed at the airport. When we were waiting for the captain to turn off the seatbelt sign, I knew that this trip was going to be filled with more normalcy than my last trip in November during the height of Covid. Back in SEATAC, we were given green wristbands if we had completed our Safe Travels profile and received our QR code. Total game changer. Before, we had to wait until we arrived in Hawaii to show our negative test results. So this time, wearing our wristbands, we were able to walk straight through like the good old days of traveling.

I wanted to keep this blog simple since I have a couple blogs about Hawaii already. During my week stay, we spent I wanted to keep this blog simple since I have a couple of blogs about Hawaii already. During my week’s stay, we spent four days in town at one of the Hilton hotels. We had a day at the pool, shopped around Waikiki, had beach days, then more beach days. It made me extremely happy to see Waikiki thriving like the good ole days! There were lines at restaurants, we walked through crowds, and people were filling up the beaches like the pre-covid life. It was good to see.

After our stay was up, we went back to my family’s home for the rest of my trip where I had some bonding time with my fam. My brother, cousin, and I took a drive through the North Shore. I always recommend going out there for anyone who asks. It’s a beautiful drive and there are beaches, shops, and great food you can find along the way. Alright, now here’s the photo diary portion of this blog. Aloha 🌺

    1. Thank you and of course! If you’re heading to Oahu, I highly recommend renting a car to get around the island. There’s some many things to see outside of the famous Waikiki. Going out to the North Shore and Haleiwa is always good. The Lanikai area is also another beautiful spot to check out.
