Taking a peek into makeup bags is one of my many secret obsessions! I love watching beauty videos on YouTube of people talking about their current favorite makeup products.
Since I do have oily skin it can be more difficult for me to find products that will still make me look good without it sliding off my face half way through the day. In turn, watching YouTube videos teaches me some of the products that can work for my skin type without me having to spend a ton of money myself 😉 .
Of course though, I ALWAYS do my research before buying a new product whether it’s drugstore or high end because I just can’t stand wasting products and I’m terrible about returning them to the store. I’m just too forgetful and by the time I remember to go to the store … well 30 days has passed .
So today I figured I will share with you my top favorite everyday drugstore products that (I haven’t returned to the store because it’s definitely been passed the 30 day mark) will stay on throughout the day while still keeping me looking fabulous.
Looove this mascara with all of my heart and soul. For the longest time I was searching for the perfect mascara that has the right amount of black pigment to enhance my already black lashes and that also lengthens while making them appear fuller. I came very close at one point with the L’oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara but every time I put it on there was just something about it I wasn’t quite happy with. Until last year when I came across this Maybelline mascara that I’m so happy I took a chance on.
Shimmery Eye Shadow – Hard Candy Baked Eye Shadow Palette in Nudes n’ Roses (this link is not to the exact palette but to one that has similar colors)
So I have this unknown obsession with glitter. I say unknown because I didn’t realize how much I love glitter … I think I was more in denial of it for some reason. Buuuut I love glitter. Like a lot. Like if it wasn’t such a pain to wash off I would totally where it ALL THE TIME. So basically, for me glitter or shimmery eye shadow is a must and this palette is quite pigmented which surprised me in a very good way. I feel like it makes my eyes glisten and sparkle like I could hypnotize you with all this glitter 😉 .
Lip Balm – EOS in Coconut Milk
This stuff smells so gooooood. Sometimes I just put it on just to smell it because it smells yummy. I like to keep it by my bed and now since winter is near the air is becoming drier so I put it on usually before bed and any other time throughout the day.
Pressed Powder – Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Natural
I found this powder through the wonderful YouTube a few years ago and I’ve been using it ever since. I always get this powder in the color Natural because for whatever reason the store is always out of the Translucent color (it’s also very possible that they just don’t have a translucent color). But it’s all good because it doesn’t alter my foundation very much or if my foundation is a little too dark it can lighten the color just a tad. And it does a pretty good job at keeping my face together, which is a plus.
The moment I found out that Maybelline was coming out with a matte foundation I was so excited to try it hoping it was THE ONE. And well it was and still is. I know L’oreal came out with a similar foundation around the same time but I have yet to try it. Honestly, the Maybelline foundation was cheaper and I just wasn’t as interested since I found one I loved.
Liquid Eyeliner – L’oreal Voluminous Superstar in Black
The first liquid eyeliner I used was the E.L.F one and I was hooked once I figured out how to wear it. The only thing was I didn’t like the handle on the brush. It didn’t allow me to have a steady hand. Then, is when I found this L’oreal eyeliner that gave me better precision and I didn’t feel like I was holding the handle too far back. Definitely a good eyeliner to use if you’re struggling with getting your lines curving the way you want it.
Concealer – Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 20 Sand
Like the foundation this stuff is pretty amazing as well. I use it under my eyes to brighten them up a bit and as an eye shadow primer. Then, I’ll set it with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder and it I’ll be set for the whole day. It doesn’t crease into my little lines. Instead, it makes me feel flawless which makes it perfect to wear in my everyday makeup routine.
Nude lipstick is the perfect everyday color to wear because it looks natural without it feeling like I have on a ton of makeup. I love the more natural look of makeup for everyday wear that way I don’t have to worry too much about how it looks every ten minutes. I like this color specifically though because it tones down the redness in my lips which I sometimes feel is too overpowering ( I’m sure that’s just how I feel about it ).
